The “off-season” at the Mount Snow Grand Summit Hotel is anything but “off” when the snow melts. From spring to fall the hills are alive, and the range of activities that can be experienced here will make you feel the same way and can only be described in a single word: Limitless. Everything from high-adrenaline action sports, to as low-key casual and cool as you can imagine there is something for anyone and everyone.
Mountain biking is one of our premier activities with a deep heritage in the sport having hosted countless World Cup-level cross country and downhill events over the many years of the sport’s evolution. Our extensive trail system and diverse terrain continues to push the envelope by including many features that today’s freeride and all mountain riding scene demands: Berms. Ladders. Dirt Jumps. It can be a lot to take in, especially for newer riders. Because of that we’re happy to aid in skills progression with the completion of our beginner downhill trail experience. This gives virtually anyone the ability to cruise down with ease, while using a fully outfitted downhill rig from our rental fleet.
Hiking provides an intimate outdoor experience by allowing you to go at your own pace as you tour around on our more than 20 miles of trails as you explore the riches of the Green Mountain National Forest. The trail network accommodates various abilities including hikes for the more adventurous wanting to ascend the 3,600’ peak of Mount Snow, or the favorite 2.5 mile Ridge Trail that links the peaks of Mount Snow and Haystack.
Scenic chairlift rides are a leisurely and comfortable way to reach the summit of Mount Snow aboard the Bluebird Express. The views from the top are breathtaking as you look out for miles into bordering states, while the cool air currents from high above are sure to beat the summer heat. Virtually unrivaled, there are few experiences as amazing as getting a mountain top view of the famed New England fall foliage and couldn’t be easier to access. Grabbing lunch to go from the Grand Country Deli and having a summit picnic is sure to make the experience even more memorable.
The Mount Snow and Deerfield valleys are full of attractions and steeped in rich history and natural beauty. There is a seemingly endless list of events throughout the year. No place duplicates, or even comes close to the range we host from spring all the way through the fall such as the Marlboro Music Festival, and the Deerfield Valley Blueberry Festival. It’s almost impossible to forget the others that draw legions of fans such as our annual Brewer’s Festival, Wine & Harvest Festival, or the pending winter’s unofficial welcoming kickoff party – Oktoberfest.
